Battery low warning question

I am getting the low battery warning on my 520 in the middle of a ride and the battery icon on GC turns red etc. However when I get home and go back into GC it says the battery is good and shows full bars on the icon. They have only done 50-60 of the 120 hours from new. Is it safe to keep using them or will they suddenly die?. I have seen posts saying the warning is just over sensitive?
  • The battery voltage is dependent on the ambient temperature. The Vector system only reports three different states to the Edge or GC: "New", "Good", and "Low". If you ride in cooler weather conditions it is not unexpected that you will get 'battery low' alerts that then go away once you bring the system back indoors (or once the outside conditions warm up). You will not damage your.system from riding it with the low battery alert active but you may want to carry spare batteries for the eventual situation where the system shuts down.
  • Useful info thanks. I would say I'm using the trainer indoors at present so no temperature changes. I noticed at the end of my ride this evening it had gone again to low. They then went normally to sleep but wouldn't wake up immediately following. However 5 mins later they were saying good again. Maybe only getting 50-60 hours in that case?
