Torque Values after Calibration success on Edge 1000

After calibrating the vectors I get torque values displayed on my Edge 1000 head uint, such as 0.16, -0.06. These keep changing, is this OK ?

I believe so. Mine show different values each time as well.
  • The main purpose of the torque display is so that you can easily validate the torque measurement accuracy, by hanging a known weight from the toe of the pedal. When there is no weight applied, the result you get after calibration should be near zero. The value shown represents the sum of the torque sensed by both pedals.

So constantly changing is that ok. If so I don’t understand why the figure changes when nothing is moving and bike on a turbo.
    Thanks for reply
  • I agree, I would expect a zero value torque too.

It's because you are seeing a 'live' measurement and the amount of averaging being applied is kept to a reasonable limit so that one can do a calibration without having to wait a long time for the display to settle out. The torque values being discussed correspond to forces that are less than the weight of the pedal body. The resolution of the torque display (i.e. the minimum possible change quantity) is 0.03 N-m.
