did anyone receive new battery doors? did they solve any problems?
  • I received what I thought was the redesigned battery doors today, but they look exactly the same as the old ones. I would be curious to know what the changes were (if there were any).
  • Can you post some pics of the new doors.
  • I received two sets of these today (see pictures below). Like I said, they don't appear to be any different than what was previously on the pedals. In particular, the tiny square of what looks like electrical tape is still covering the contacts, which is unfortunate since it seems like that was the main cause of all of the problems.
  • Question for T_Smit

Are these newly designed doors? If they are, what are the differences?

If it is not the new design, is Garmin working on a new door/PCB design or will you stay with this design for the Vector 3?
  • Are these newly designed doors?

No. There are no "redesigned doors" currently in external circulation.
  • That's unfortunate, since the Garmin representative I spoke with gave me the strong impression that I was being sent redesigned doors. I actually went into the conversation asking whether there were plans to redesign them since, failing that, I was strongly considering returning the pedals. So, the question I have (which, I'm learning now, wasn't answered a month ago when I was told I was being shipped new doors): are there legitimately plans to redesign the battery doors? The taped up battery door solution that Garmin came up with seems like a ticking time bomb as more and more people replace their batteries, so is there a game plan here, or are they just going to let the product be a disaster?

There is a legitimate effort underway to redesign the doors, and there has been for some time. But the redesigned doors are not yet available.

Also, some early production battery doors were subject to greater variability in assembly and that may have led to some of the problems identified by various users. These assembly issues have been identified and corrected as much as possible within the constraints of the existing design.

  • Thank you for this update. It is extremely helpful to be kept in the picture on this issue which is frustrating many of us who have purchased Vector pedals. A little information from you goes a long way in managing our concerns. Please keep us updated on progress.
  • Is this somehow connected with my issues on Vector3 -during ride I am receiving messages on garmin edge that battery on vector is empty but after I pressed “ok” or I stop and check again “batery is ok”? I really dont want to send pedals on service and be without them for one month and so one ;/...

I'm getting the same messages. Checking the battery status after the ride: "OK"
At the moment I'm not riding in cold conditions... approx. around 10-15°C.
