Software Mismatch problem since firmware update

Updated via Garmin Connect and every time pedals are detected by my Edge 520 I get a message saying software mismatch. Also only one pedal seems to connect to the Edge yet I get power readings from both although don’t seem entirely accurate. How can I fix this problem?
  • Is this the usual standard for Garmin support? Is there any way to return the pedals as the software mismatch is causing the left and right to misread. I bought them from cyclepowemeters.com in the UK and will see if I can get a refund.

This should self correct when the pedals wake up.

Try the following. Spin the crank arm to wake the pedals ups. Once they are awake back the right battery door out a turn so that the battery disconnects from the contacts. Then tighten it back in. When the pedal wakes up you should see both pedals go in to the file transfer mode. They should both flash green/red. After the transfer is complete the right pedal should lash green 20 times to indicate a successful update.
  • Thanks but I tried this several times and again today. Still no luck. Is there a way of getting these replaced?

There is no way of plugging them into to do the update or reset manually that I am aware of.

It is not the software mismatch message flashing up every time I use them but the L R cycling dynamics is coming out at 53% L and 47% R which is incorrect as previously 49 -51 balance. It is affecting my intervAl sessions as can’t focus on pedalling if it is telling me I am not doing it properly.

The power balance is sensitive to the zero calibration. Do you do a zero calibration at the start of every ride? Vector 3 has automatic zero calibration but following a new installation, it will require a manual calibration for proper performance.
  • This is still a problem. Any way of fixing it Garmin?
