ANT+ pairing (MacOS --> Trainerroad); only one "Garmin Power Meter"?

Hi, after pairing the V3 via ANT+ (MacOS with the Garmin USB-Dongle) in the App Trainer Road I only see "Garmin Power Meter" as it would only be one device. I just wondered if I should see two "Garmin Power Meters" with separate values etc. It would be very kind if somebody could give me a feedback regarding that issue. Many thanks in advance and best regards, Peter

For ease of use Vector has been implemented over a single BLE channel. The data from both pedals is aggregated together on the left pedal and then broadcasted over a single BLE channel. This means that when pairing with Vector over BLE you only need to pair with one device to get your data from both pedals.
  • From the point of view of the user today, ANT+ bike power meters will always appear as a single device on a head unit or trainer app.

The ANT+ bike power meter data profile was designed from the outset to only require a single head unit connection, with a dual-sided system implicitly required to handle the data aggregation. One of the reasons was that early on, many head units only supported a limited number of simultaneous ANT connections, and it would have imposed a significant burden for a power meter to use two connections. In today's systems, that is not so much an issue anymore but the ANT+ bike power profile has not (yet) been extended to allow dual independent connections to a head unit. Even if and when that happens, backwards compatibility will require the power meter to at least start up in a single connection mode.
