What happens to the pedals if you crash ?

Reading about the flimsy battery cover, what will happen to them if you ground them. Can you get a replacement if they get broken ?
  • The battery door exterior is made of machined stainless steel and will survive a substantial amount of abuse, but it is possible (evidently) to strike the pedal on the ground in such a way as to cause it to unscrew. Replacement battery doors and if necessary, complete pedal body assemblies are available as replacement parts.
  • The pedal bodies are made in the same way and of the same stuff as normal carbon pedals, so the damage will be the same as for a pair of Look pedals. The difference is that here you can replace just the pedal body. I'd imagine if you somehow damaged the spindle with electronics in Garmin would probably be able to sort you out for a reasonable fee too.

Hi, exactly this happened to me, the pedal struck the ground and the exterior battery door unscrewed. I have lost the black plastic battery carriage inside the metal battery cap. What is the part number and how can I get a replacement? Ulrich

Please contact Garmin Customer Service they should be able to provide you with a replacement door. The replacement door is part of a service kit S000-01030-00.

I contacted Garmin support by email almost a week ago about crash repair options, the battery cover took heavy damage and I cracked the pedal body, still no reply. This is on top of previous battery cover issues. Less than impressed so far.
  • Call in to support. If you call in you will get an immediate resolution. I've had email take 3 weeks to get a response and the response I got was canned and not helpful. The immediate reply to that email from me took another two weeks to get a response from customer support.
