Vector 3, Iphone + Garmin Connect, Forerunner 835

I am in the market for a Vector 3 power meters but do not want to invest in an expensive bike computer.

With that said, I understand that a lack of computer will limit my display options unless I can hopefully pair it it with my Forerunner 935 and/or Iphone 6 running Garmin Connect.

My questions are the following:

1. If paired to my 935, will I be able to see the wattage displayed?
2. If paired with my Iphone 6 running the Garmin Connect and setting is on LIVETRACK, will I get be getting instantaneous and live wattage values and pedal metrics and if so, can anyone send a screenshot of what it would look like as an example?
3. If no to question #1 and #2, are there apps I can use I can install on my 935 or Iphone and display live metrics in place of a bike computer?

Thanks!
  • 1. Yes
    2. No

Basically the 935 will do everything you want, although the screen is small. Set up multiple datascreens with the metrics you want and scroll between them or set up Auto-scroll

  • 1) The 935 will show everything that a bike computer will.
2)That is not what LIVETRACK does. Livetrack allows someone else to see what your position is in real time. You can set it to start automatically when you start a bike activity and it will send an email with a link that someone can use to track where you are at any given time. I do a lot of riding out in rural areas and I use it to allow my wife to see where I am, just in case I get run off the road or am hit by a car.

Does the 935 definitely show dual sided power? My 735xt only records left, leaving me the choice of buying a garmin edge 1030, or 935xt

You have something else going on with your set-up. The 735 will record total power and power balance. It also supports cycling dynamics. If you are only getting left data then the left and right pedals are not communicating or a calibration has not been performed.

Vector only talks to the head unit through one pedal. That pedal aggregates the data from both pedals and sends it up to head unit.

    Hi,

could you please help me, because I want to avoid to use an additional bike computer.

I have a Fenix 3 and use my iPhone X for navigation and other stuff which most people using a bike computer for. Do you know if the Fenix 3 is able to show the powermeter infos from the vector 3 or if an iPhone App exists that show these information?

I'm looking forward to you feedback.
