Bluetooth Connection to mobile phone

Can someone explain how to connect the pedals to my phone (GCM). It seems nothing happens when trying to connect. Bluetooth settings does see V3, but GCM does not...?

Anyone else seeing this?
  • Never mind - got it fixed.

Just tried several times and suddenly it got connected. I'm good :-)

    Got help here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPDyahSXR9Y
  • Teriemer are you able to see the Vector 3 listed under Compatible Devices in GCM after you select Add Device? If yes when you select Pair Your Vector 3 Device and hit Start what happens next?
  • Well disregard my last post. Thanks for following back up!

FYI: Vector 3 was listed in the "other" menu under Compatible Devices
  • Trying to connect the Vector 3 to Iphone with IOS 11.1.2.
    Impossible.
I go to add devices, find in the list Vector 3, Start, turn the crank as instructed, add the ID number, and I get the following message " Can't find your device. Make sureVector 3 is plugged in and turned on. Try turning off bluetooth in your phone settings and turn it back on"

The vectors 3 are not plugged in, they are installed in my crank set, they are on (as the garmin edge finds them and connect).
Did turn off and on bluetooth as suggested and nothing. Any suggestions?
    Thank you.
  • Just had a hell of a time getting my V3 detected by Garmin Connect App on the iPhone. No luck whatsoever for a while... I then paired them to my Edge 520, calibrated/zeroed the V3, pedalled for a minute... then the Garmin Connect App found them. Coincidence or not... that was horrible. Onwards and... upwards.

Just received my Vector 3 set...no luck connecting to my iPhone. I do not own a Garmin Edge, so not to state the obvious here but: even if there is a firmware update fixing bluetooth issues how am I supposed to get that update to the pedals? Or am I missing something?
  • You need to get it working with your iPhone. Are you pairing through the GCM app?

Yes, I am. If the iPhone is the only way to update, then Garmin might be in a bit of a situation here, aren't they?
I might have tried pairing with both pedals for about 40 times now and they just do not do anything except blinking with a code that tells me, "battery ok, cannot find other pedal".

EDIT: I have actually no idea how to get them into pairing mode properly. Tried turning the pedal half way but have not seen any consistent reaction from the blinking lights.

EDIT 2: Correction - I sometimes get the green light repeatedly blinking, what I assume is the pairing signal.

I have the same issue with my Vector 3S pedals.
I rang garmin and they emailed me a solution.
They said to send them back to where I bought them.

I have a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt and that connects to the pedals, as does my laptop via bluetooth.
The Garmin app and Garmin Express (using ANT+ dongle) do not pick them up.
So its the app and the Garmin laptop software.

Seems if you dont have a Garmin cycling computer, the pedals are useless as Garmins official answer is to return them.
And I assume they mean to buy another brand, but that was not stated?!
