Index Scale 2 rumours vs. buying now (with multiple weigh-ins a day supported)

With multiple weigh-ins a day now being supported... I am very tempted to buy the Index Scale. It now has everything I'd need. How old is it though? Did it come out at the end of 2015, so the tech would now be 4.5 years old?

Are there any updates on the rumours about the Index Scale 2? All extremely hypothetical I think? Some person at the very bottom of the comments (https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2016/02/garmin-scale-review.html) in March 2020 said apparently Garmin Australia said the product was discontinued and they don't sell any scales... Will this be another product that is discontinued without having *any* replacement product available, like the Garmin Foot Pod?

Any advice? Snatch it while you still can?

Was the foot pod not replaced with the HRM-RUN as that does everything and more ? Or the pod that clips on your shorts?

No, foot pod is different, it measures stride, distance etc on the foot. You clip it to your shoes and it stays there, forever.

HRM-Run is something you need to wear on your chest, and it has Running Dynamics (estimated from the chest location). It's completementary. The waist pod is complementary too - you gotta clip it to your waist every time you run and it provides Running Dynamics. It's not something that you just clip on your shoes and forget about it.

But I run in 5 different pairs of trainers. So the HRM-Run is so much easier and give me everything a foot pod does, and more

If you got 5 different trainers then agree your use case is different and a waist pod will be more convenient!
However if you only got one pair of running trainers, it's much more convenient to have a pod that's just always there!
