Measurements diapearing from Garmin Connect

So here is what I am observing:

I weigh in on my Garmin Index every morning. If I check Garmin Connect shortly thereafter, it shows all six measurements - weight, body fat, BMI, % water, Muscle Mass, and Bone Mass. Then sometime during the day, all the measurements disappear except for Weight. I have checked Garmin Connect on my PC, Android Phone, and IPad and its the same on all of the, the reset of the measurements are gone.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I have the same problem. The problem is not MFP. Several friends are using the Fenix 5s in combinatoin with the Index scale. No problems at all. The 5X is the problem. If you set a alarm on the 5X it disappaers when you sync. The data on the GC overwrite the data in the watch. When i do a bike ride with de 5X and then sync with GC the date of provided by the index scale are lost.
My girlfriend uses also MFP in combination with GC and a 620. No problem at all. She is able to see all the data from the index scale. Garmin please fix. It is a very expensive scale if you only see your weight.

Actually I am using the Fenix 5s with the index scales and experiencing the same problem, (no link to MFP), so it’s not just the 5x.

    Fenix 5s, software version 7.60.
    Garmin Connect 4.2.2.1
same issues as described since 19th Jan 2018.
    Not using MFP.
    - Weigh in on scales
    - all data is on the app
    - later in the day data is gone

So very frustrating. My life time dataset is destroyed.
I can’t even enter manually as Garmin won’t allow manual upload of anything other than basic weight data.
Perhaps if Garmin would finally allow multiple weight measurements in a day, then we could simply delete the data that we don’t want to keep? But no, Garmin insists on only storing one measurement per day, unlike it’s competitors.
I had thought I was upgrading when switching from fitbit to Garmin, but the list of software issues I have is beyond a joke.
FIX IT GARMIN! FIX IT NOW!

Update: when I wake in the morning, these is no weight data in Garmin Connect (normal); having not recorded any activity, I sync Fenix 5s for the first time that day (having synced last right before bed), the weight data in GC is immediately populated.
Conclusion: The Fenix 5s is pushing a weight measurement to GC.

If I then weigh in on the index, this will overwrite the Fenix 5s measurement, however after syncing two more times, only the weight measurement will remain again.

Conclusion: the Fenix 5s is overwriting the index measurements of that day.

Only realistic solution: Sell the £1500+ worth of Garmin merchandise that I own on eBay and leave this mess of an ecosystem behind me forever.

  • Another voice to add to the chorus. Weight data disappearing apparently after Fenix 5 sync.

    FIX IT GARMIN!!
  • I have similar issues... My wife and I are both using our own Forerunner 910XTs and share a set of TANITA BC-1000 scales. Only the weight appears on Garmin Connect after measurements are taken and uploaded. We've used these scales for over a year and GC always displayed the Body Fat, BMI, % Water, Muscle Mass and Bone Mass with out issue but not any more. In fact, all the historic data seems to have dissapeared too. It would be great if Garmin were to explain their ommision of these metrics.
  • I’m quite sure that’s GCM 4.2 causing that problem.
    Launched “2 weeks” ago.
And yes - same problem here.

    F3 - 7.6
    GCM - 4.2.2
    iPhone 6 - 11.2.5

Ah - before I forget: GARMIN FIX IT!

    Same.
  • @garminfitness is an address you may want to tweet.
  • Hi,

They told me the same about the issue I face since 7 months now about my fat mass stuck either at 6% or 7% since I bought it.
They stated there is nothing else they can do as the bug as been tagged as Minor by Garmin's team ...
So I got an useless scale that I bought to follow my fat mass trend since I bought the Index "smart" (let me laugh) scale.

    D.

Well, as you state the problem is a known one. Perhaps this problem was also tagged as minor initially :(
  • Hi,

+1....Same behaviour here since january 21st. I have also noticed another issue. Now GC interpolates between two measurements. For example, if I do not measure anything at a given day, it will use and display in GC the measurement done on day-1. Very desapointing...

    Best regards

I wish I'd read this post before I purchased my scale 2 weeks ago. I've got one reading that has stayed put since I started using it.
