How to get most precise weight and metrics?

Hi there

I have bought the index scale and use it every morning when i wake up.
My main purpose with the scale is to measure my progress in loosing weight. I know that the scale is not 100% accurate in its measurements, but I believe I can use it to see the progress i make :-)

I have gone through the forum to see if i could find anything related to get the most precise measurements but can find anything specific.

Can some of you clever guys give some tips on how to get the most accurate reading, like what should my water % be to have the optimal readings and so on.

Best regards
  • Personally I don't thinks the body metrics are accurate as an example if I weigh before and after a hard run I can lose between 2-3 kilos in weight we know its mostly water yet the metrics show the weight lose in body fat%. What I do keep an eye on is the average of my weight in GCM if you go to more at the bottom> Health Stats> Weight> then you can see an average for 7d, 4W and 12m.

They are not accurate at all. However, they are consistently inaccurate so you can sort of use that as a gauge on your progress (or lack of). Garmin doesn't seem to care as this issue has been brought up many times since the scale was released.

I have the same experience as you both seem to have.

I think I read something about you should have a body water percentage of 60% to have the most reliable outcome. But I can only get mine op to like 56% so that do not help me.

But it is consistent in all the metrics though, so I guess that's something :-)

    Best regards
