Advantage to Adding Scale to Garmin Connect Mobile?

I purchased a Garmin Index scale and added it to my wifi network via WPS. I then added it to my Garmin Connect account by hopping on the Garmin Connect web site and entering the scale's ID number (per the instructions). Everything works fine, but I noticed that the scale shows up in Garmin Connect Mobile under Garmin Devices -> Registered to Garmin Connect. If I tap on the name of the scale, I see "This Garmin device is registered to your Garmin Connect account, but has not been paired to your iOS device." Below that is a button labeled "Add this Device".

So my question is: is there an advantage to adding the scale to Garmin Connect Mobile when the scale is already registered to Garmin Connect and working properly?

I had the same problem and contacted garmin support.
Solution was easy.
Remove batteries, insert again.
Now start by pairing your phone and smart index via bluetooth and next setup garmin scale by wifi.
Thats it
