Body Fat Percentage Error

The Garmin smart scale is reporting my body fat at ~10% consistently. This is blatantly incorrect as two other scales in my home register my body fat as between 19%-21% depending on the time.

I believe the issue lays within the scale using the wrong body height in its algorithm, as even though I set my height at 6'2 I found it had changed to 5'7. Even though I have corrected this and even reset the scales this error persists. (Although my height hadn't reverted back to 5'7)

Also I have found that my body weight is measured with a discrepancy between 0.1-0.3lbs if I use the scales a few times in a row so it doesn't seem to be so accurate.

What to do?

Similar errors here... I switched from Tabita BC1000 scale last week and my body fat went up from 14% to almost 26%. I realize that the biometric algorithms are different because they are different scales/manufacturers but there shouldn't be that much of a difference! My muscle mass also dropped to almost half.

Similar issue here, but my body fat went down. While I wish it was true, my body fat is too low on the Garmin, I have a whopping difference of 13% between two scales...

This needs fixing before I'll make the jump from my trusty BC1000.
  • Is it dependant from the GC user setting "class activity"?

I tried different class activity settings from 1-10 and it doesnt have impact on body fat%. It is giving me always similar number.
I have Tanita Inner Scale and Withings scaler, both give me around 18%, but Garmin is around 31%.
