Thinking of buying a Garmin Scale?

If you are like me, you check the Garmin Forums before buying one of their products.

1) I highly recommend this scale. I had the Tanita BC1000 and when Garmin stopped supporting uploading to my watch (920) it was pretty much useless because I did not want to mess with my laptop to get a reading.
2) Set up took a couple of minutes
3) Measurements appear to be consistent.....they are a little "different" than my Tanita, in that my hydration appears to be higher than the years I was on Tanita....but not concerned, I am just changing my baseline and will monitor off the new baseline.
4) On occasion, I will weigh myself and it does not load to Garmin Connect. I see the arrows go across the top and I get an "X" instead of the check mark. When this happens, I step off the scale and try again. It works the second time. I am guessing this is user error at this point as I am still new to the device.

Love the scale and how it operates and connects to GC immediately.

One bad thing. I cannot get the scale to upload to Training Peaks. This would be really helpful and hope Garmin is working on it.

This is a MUST for me, not only weight but all scale datas

I also recommend it, it would be amazing if I were the only one using it but I do have some issues while sharing profiles which are causing me difficulties.

    1. The scale finds it hard to differentiate between my girlfriend and I and it can be laggy and difficult when trying to switch profiles my manually tapping. This leads me to the second issue...

    2. Data is overwritten on a daily basis which means if I weight myself in the morning then my girlfriend weighs herself after but the scale messes up thinking its me her stats overwrite mine.

Its a daily pain atm, I might just have to ban her from using them for the time being.

Yeah, TrainingPeaks sync is a must for me.

I'm hoping as these things start to ship and establish a bit of a user-base that both Garmin and TP will see the benefit of getting this link working.

I have an index and its been working great, but the lack of training peaks sync is making me consider returning them in favor of one of the brands that supports training peaks.

I should have considered this more before I bought them.

I just assumed that since Garmin and Training Peaks partnered up to support activity syncing, that the weight metrics would sync over too :(
  • Sorta regretting buying mine. Its the overwriting of data that kills it for me.
  • Explain please how this overwrite works and how to avoid it?
Other users by accident overwrites your data?

yup, my data yesterday overwritten by someone weighing themselves who weighed close to me, identified as me and uploaded, data junk now.

Until this is fixed I would not buy one

In my case I've never got my body fat, muscles, bones weight etc.
    Just weight & BMI.
I stand on it bare dry foot. My friend gets his results on my scale, I don't.
I just can't recommend buying it - it works like very very very expensive toy, not like sports gadget...
