Help fix my Garmin Swim date/time data!

Hi Everyone - I just got a refurb warranty replacement Garmin Swim - and used it tonight for the first time. It looks GREAT on Garmin Connect, but when it exported to Strava, it gives an incorrect date -- I started my swim at 4:49 PM (Pacific timezone) on October 21, 2014 -- but it's showing 11pm 12-31-1989

Can anyone help fix my file so I can upload it to Strava (and sync with my Instagram photos)?

I looked at the free online swimming watch data editor but that doesn't fix date/time - here is the compressed original file downloaded from Modern Garmin:

Hrm... I don't have a view into the Garmin Forerunner, it just transmits through the ANT stick plugged into the USB -- the Garmin Edge 500 lets me see files on it (I did that DC Rainmaker trick where it shows my name and phone number on startup in case it gets lost).

The good news is that all subsequent swims have been just fine!

Thanks again for your help - at least I got it to show on the right day and connect my instagram photo. :)

I forgot to mention that the hidden folder is in your computer....not your Forerunner.

I had the same thing happen to me, this explains it only happening the first time:
support.garmin.com/.../case.faces

Nontheless, I have a file that I need the date fixed on...how do I go about doing that? I've attached the file below:

Hello CW,

You did not specify a date so I made it the day before you posted the file.

Here ya go....fixed the date with the Fit File Repair Tool.
