Repalcement ANT Stick - How To

Hey all,

I am on my third Garmin Swim and have managed to avoid losing my ANT stick until recently. I lost it and bought another. I could not seem to pair it with my existing Garmin Swim. I believed that this could be done but hadn't been able to figure out how to make it happen.

I tried taking the battery out of my watch - didn't work.
I tried selecting System|Computer|Enable Pairing on the watches menu - didn't work.
I tried updating my ANT Agent software - no updates pending.
On my laptop, I right-clicked on the ANT Agent icon and selected Pair with new Devices|Enabled - didn't work.

What worked:
Verify ANT Agent is running on your machine: if you do not see the ANT Agent Icon in your system tray then select All Programs|Garmin|ANT Agent from the Start Menu to get the ANT Agent running on your machine.
Right-click on the ANT Agent Icon in the system tray and verify that there is a check mark next to Pair with new devices|Enabled.
Right-click on the ANT Agent Icon in the system tray and select "About Garmin ANT Agent(tm)"
you should see a dialog pop-up about a device being found - select "Yes" or "Pair" or whatever and then your watch should beep and prompt you to Pair Yes|No.
Selecting Yes on the watch then tells the computer to prompt you for your password and User ID for connect.garmin.
  • What a great thread,wish i'd of seen this 24 hours ago as my garmin problem has been stressing me out.but since reading this its all sorted.
