"Data transfer" loop with Garmin Express

I tried the updated Garmin Express today. The Garmin swim watch transferred the data, displaying "data transfer" on the watch, then it displayed the time, Garmin Express on the computer said "sync complete". Then the whole "data transfer" started again with the "sync complete" message on the computer as well. It did this about 10 times before I removed the watch from Garmin Express. It appeared to be stuck in a loop, and I was afraid this loop would kill the battery. Garmin Connect showed the data after the first transfer, so I don't know what it was trying to send.

UPDATE!
I was checking the Garmin Express version, it was 3.0.6.0, and a message said there was a new version. I am installing 3.0.7.0 right now and will report back if the same thing happens after my next data transfer.

    Hi!

I have the same thing, with Garmin Express 3.0.8.0.

    (Garmin Swim 3.60).

No problems with my Garmin Forerunner 910xt.

I seem to be having same issue with Swim(3.6.0) and garmin express 3.0.8.0

Any resolution as yet? Had to reset my watch to even pair with garmin express as it would not after moving from xp/ant to window7/express.

Again my 310 works perfect with express.
  • I still have this problem with garmin express v3.0.9.0 and garmin swim 3.6.0.

Just to reiterate, after completing a swim the watch displays "data transfer" and garmin express says "sync complete". I go to garmin connect and view my data which is correctly posted. Then the garmin watch and garmin express continue to repeat this process of "data transfer" over and over again even though there is nothing left to transfer. The only way I could get it to stop was to go in the device settings and remove the garmin swim from garmin express.

Is this issue being looked into by the garmin express development team?
  • There is a new version of Garmin Express available, I suggest you try that for this issue. For PC, you need Garmin Express version 3.0.9.0, for Mac you need 3.0.6.0. To get the latest version of Garmin Express: 1) Open your current version of Garmin Express, 2) Click on the Settings gear-thing on the top right, 3) In the bottom box “About Garmin Express”, select “Check for Application Updates”. 4) Install the update.

Please post again if you continue to experience this issue with the latest version of Garmin Express.
  • Same problem on a PC with Garmin Express 3.0.9.0.

  • LK0790, I don't have my sounds turned on, so I don't know if I have an issue with that. However I would guess that is a separate issue, but don't know for sure.

lets wait what others have to say. maybe there is a combination of buttons which blocks sounds otherwise I dont knwo what could go wrong. I did nothing terrible with watches...
  • On the data transfer loop, we are aware of the issue and the Garmin Express team is looking at it. Thanks for posting and we'll let you know when we think it is resolved.

On losing sounds, that is strange. Had you recently changed the battery?

no, after hard reset I have heard sound on every second button push for a while and after minute even that was gone. I have this watches like 3 days. changing battery kills sounds?
