Garmin Express -- Swim -> Connect linkage?

Just noticed that Garmin Connect pointed me towards installing Garmin Express to replace the ant agent. Always willing to jump to the next thing I installed it...

As I was re-pairing my ANT transfer devices to the software I noted that my 910xt and 610 prompted for a Garmin Connect account to sync data to on transfer, but the Swim did not. I will quickly learn tomorrow if my swim will sync, and upload to Connect, but it looks doubtful. Am I missing something? I cannot see an obvious way to link it to connect at this point.

I tried also to sync my garmin swim with the new Garmin Express, and unfortunately, the app said that the Garmin Swin is not supported !!! :-(
I re-installed the ANT Agent waiting a more reliable version of this new application ...
  • Same problem here, I installed, but it would not transfer my swim data.

Also before installing I read that certain products were not supported, but it did NOT list the Garmin swim as one of those not being supported. So I assumed it was.

Our new, improved software is ready for almost everyone to use now. It installs on your computer and smoothly moves information between your device and Garmin Connect, replacing ANT Agent, Garmin Communicator Plugin and Garmin Express Fit. It even updates your device software! Get it now.
(Forerunner 305, 405 and 410 users, please hang tight while we get Garmin Express ready for you.)

Additionally I would like to note that Garmin Express did find my watch and "paired" with it without any issues (serial number was found and listed). It just would not retrieve data from the watch. I did reboot, but still no luck. I just uninstalled "Express" and did not have to reinstall the old "Ant" software. I just had to start it up again and it found the the watch and retrieved the data almost instantaneously.

Same here. Installed Garmin express, but it doesn't update my workouts. Neither does Ant agent after installing Garmin express: so no way to upload my data .
    Hoping for a quick fix.
  • We're looking at it. Stay tuned!
  • It seems to be working now. You will need to remove the Garmin Swim device from Garmin Express via the Device view and then re-add it. Also, you will need to make sure you have the most recent version of Garmin Express, released last Friday.

    It worked for me.
    Great, thanks.
  • Thanks
I believe I have the latest version of Garmin Express, however the swim data is not being transferred, I'm using the the ANT agent for now.
I will verify I have the latest version (via the software, right?) and try to remove the watch from Garmin Express and re-pair it
    hope it will work

    Thanks!

  • To check to be sure that you have the latest version of Garmin Express...

    • Launch Garmin Express.
    • Click the settings icon (gear) near the help button (question mark) in the top-right corner of the window.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page.
    • Click the test that reads Check for Application Updates.

I installed the new software on a Windows 7 machine with the ANT+ stick in yesterday. Couple of things. I got it all to work with the new software but it does not work if I have the old ANT+ agent software running...

    Q. Can I delete this now (Garmin ANT Agent v2.3.4) given I have the new software (Garmin Express v3.0.4.1) in place, or is the latter still dependent on some of the former being on the system?

I did get some pairing issues until I 1. disabled ANT Agent and 2. unplugged and re-plugged the ANT+ stick into the PC.

Hopefully that might solve an issue or two if anyone else is having this problem?

    Cheers
