Incorrect Avg Pace Calculation

Former Member

Hi,

I just wanted to point out a session of mine that has an odd calculation for the Avg Pace. Avg Moving Pace and Best Pace seem to be fine, it's just the Avg Pace.

Avg Pace: 13:26 min/100 m
Avg Moving Pace: 1:53 min/100 m
Best Pace: 1:26 min/100 m

You can view the session here: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/253173995

The Avg Pace shown on the watch when I view the history is 13:53/100m

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a known bug and being fixed?

Thanks,

Darren

I think my issue might be different. I didn't have any considerable rest time that could be included in the calculation. I think I was stationary all of 10-20 seconds between each interval.

The overall time for the session was 1:34:32 = 94.32 minutes. 5000m/100m = 50(x100m) so..

    94.32 mins / 50(x100m) = 1.88 min/100m if rest time was included.

Having said that, I don't think my session logged any rest time at all. I used Start[Stop/Resume]Save instead of Pause for each interval.

That is very strange and not something we've seen before. From the GC link, it looks as though the length count was accurate. That was a very long swim! We're looking at this. It would be helpful to know if you've swum since (or before), how long the swims were, and whether you saw the same problem.
