Edit Data in Garmin Connect

@ Garmin support: I am very dissapointed about the lack of editing function on garmin connect. The Garmin Swim produces some bad data, so a lot of functions (eg averages, min/max pace) are useless. I will return my watch if there is no chance to edit my data in near future.
  • And off topic but while I'm complaining...

The "modern" view is slow and sluggish and almost unusable. It definitely is not an improvement. So if you intend to leave it at that, please leave the classic view as an option indefinitely.

Can I edit data with Garmin Swim

I received a Garmin Swim as a Christmas gift.Since then, 2 errors caused by crowded lanes (Intervals of 1025m instead of 1000m). I tried to merge data (merge the two wrong laps into one) but I can't. I wrote to Garmin but received a vague answer that doesn't solve the problem. Any idea before I return the watch to the store? Thanks in advance.
BAD NEWS : Just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Garmin support. They said the only thing you can change is the overall distance on the first page (with the pencil on the right). You can't change or merge the laps that show up in the other pages. So the data is wrong (in my case to many laps for less time) which, of course is of no use to me, I'm taking it back to the store.

    +1

I need a tool to edit a few triathlons where I forgot to press the interval buttons which resulted in swim / T1 / bike / T2 / run being incorrect.

    Hello Salmoliv,

The Fit File Repair Tool. Its not free and has a learning curve but you can edit and repair almost any data and rebuild any MultiSport.

    http://fitfilerepairtool.info/

Attach a copy of your original FIT file and I will show you the results you can get.
  • Better than having nothing at all...

Great tip and I'm rather tempted to pay for the tool. Still I would expect Garmin to put some effort in it and supply a solution within the platform - as others do for years...

    Better edit functions

My Forerunner 910 has been missing some of my turns in the pool, therefore my statistics are off. I sync with Swim.com where there is better editing ability. I able to split a lap in two, delete a laps and more. Why can't Garmin do that too.

    Thank you @DATEZZ

I'm using a Mac. As far as I know, there isn't any MsAccess runtime for it. Any other tool around?

I know nothing about MAC's but I have read somewhere that MAC can run Windows on a "virtual machine" whatever that is :p

Maybe that would allow you to run this great Fit File Repair Tool software??

    C'mon Garmin Connect Team

I too have made a mistake here, or uploaded bad data there (HR of 254!?) and have been wanting this feature for a long long time. I am also a garmin junkie with every recent fitness related purchase being a Garmin
    • Vivosmart HR
    • Edge 510 (lost)
    • Edge 520
    • Forerunner 310XT
    • Virb 1 (slipped out of mount and run over by car)
    • Virb 2 (still working)

This is _after_ being a long time(10+ years) Polar user and not liking any of their GPS solutions at the time Garmin released the 310XT.

So I've have owned devices from both manufacturers and each have +'s and -'s.
One thing Polar did right with their software, not web based, was the ability to correct any data after it was uploaded. I used this for almost every exercise I uploaded because inevitably, some of the captured HR data was obviously incorrect, just like with Garmin.

This is a serious miss on the part of the Garmin Connect Product Management team and I am now turning my eyes back toward Polar after seeing this thread go on for years.

    Listen to your customers Garmin:confused:

Is there anyone from Garmin checking on this thread?

When it comes to triathlons, it would be very handy to be able to edit the data. Any plan in your roadmap to release such feature in your app?

    Thanks
