Forerunner 935 and Scosche Rhythm+ 2.0

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this. I recently bought a  Scosche Rhythm+ 2.0 as an external HRM. Yes, I probably would have been better off to have stuck with Garmin products.... but chest straps really annoy me.

My Forrunner 935 collects heart rate data perfectly fine. But it seems to be drastically underestimating EPOC.

Using the watch alone, a typical fastish (for me) 5km run with around 50% of the time in HR zone 4 would have an aerobic training effect of around 3.2 - 3.5, Using the external HRM, this tends to be 2.1 - 2.5.

I have read that some people have had this issue with the Rhythm 24 which was fixed with a firmware update. Similarly, some people have had issues turning off the HRM before the activity is saved. No firmware updates for the Rhythm+ 2 and have made sure that I am saving the activity before disconnecting the HRM. No change.

Any thoughts or insight?
