Reset “Training Status” Data

This isn’t really just a Forerunner 935 problem, though it’s a problem which got created when I made the absolutely horrible mistake of also recording rides on my Forerunner.

For the past MONTH, so no, it doesn’t want to sort itself out no matter what I do, its had my target range about twice as high as it should because ... I made the horrible mistake of recording rides on both my Edge 820 AND my Forerunner 935. Worse still, I did it right when I started riding again after we got locked down and I had no “Training Status”. Once I realized my mistake I stopped double-recording.

It has decided, and I cannot seem to change its mind, that I need to by cycling twice as much as I do or else I’m just being a horrible person.

I need a simple answer. If there isn’t a simple answer the Forerunner is going to be put away and I’m going back to using Strava for fitness tracking because this is nonsense. I’ve read multiple accounts of people who just want to RESET THEIR TRAINING STATUS.

Edited to add:

I did confirm that if I double-record, even through the rides have overlapping times, that the value is twice as high as it should be. I'm not going to stop using the Edge 820 and 520 head units I have, so my Forerunner 935 is likely going to be put back in a drawer or given away. I can't believe Garmin doesn't realize some of us own more than one of their products!

  • Never mind. I’m done with this thing, so back into the junk drawer it goes and back to Strava for fitness tracking.

As best as I can tell Garmin products are designed for young men, and especially young men who can and will get consistently fitter until they are old and fed up with being nagged. I’m about 60 years old. I don’t need to be told how much I suck because Garmin’s software has bugs and Garmin can’t be bothered to check their own forum from time to time.
