Display now has a 'air gap' after so many years of faithful service, but watch still works fine?

After so many years of awesome wear, after going thru several wrist bands but the watch itself 'still keeps on ticking' for everyone who remembers old Timex commercials, I suddenly find a small air gap in the lower right of my display going from the 6 o'clock position to the 4 o'clock positon. It looks like a light silvery color on the screen.

When I apply a little pressure to the display, pressing out any air, the display looks normal again but almost immediately goes back to a small air gap ... and I do not have a screen protector.

1. Does anyone else see / had a similar issue, and if so any ideas on what to do to stop the air gap growing?

2. Is this the first step of losing my display entirely, if the air gap becomes larger?

Many thanks

  • I had the same (but in the upper right of the display). Concluded I don't want to use it in the water anymore and went for the 945

  • Thanks for the response. I'm guessing some display seal is failing on my 935, and after an extremely faithful few years, I'm not sorry if/when my watch fails me someday. TBH, till I got my Garmin I had every FitBit as they came out and all of them failed me (died) in literally months after use. Wish I had some inkling on when the next-gen Garmin smartwatches are reasonably expected (and I hope the Garmin software stays better than it was a wee while ago ... please)
