Wifi sync has not been working for weeks

A couple of weeks (or even months) ago wifi sync stopped workign on my FR935 - it only says "Network error. Try again later".
I've tried rebooting the watch, even deleting the network and re-adding it via the connect app - in which case the watch did recognize the network and I could add it.

But nothing helps, I cannot sync via wifi. Anybody experiencing the same? I'd really like to avoid factory resetting the watch and setting up all the datafields from scratch.

The wifi is not hidden, it's band-steered (2.4 and 5Ghz simultaneously) but that wasn't a problem before.

The watch is on FW21.00.

  • Syncing is a mess. Has always been a mess. And will probably always be a mess.

When I come back from a workout, my iPhone says my watch is connected to bluetooth, garmin connect app shows a green dot next to the watch icon, but syncing doesn’t work.

When I start a wifi sync in that situation I get an error syncing is already in progress (which clearly isn’t).

If I turn of bluetooth on my iPhone, wifi sync finally starts. (Turning bluetooth on again restores the connection to a real functioning one)

I reported this to Garmin again and again over the last 4 yours, but they are not willing or not capable to fix their software. Probably to busy thinking new of new BS features for their new devices.

The only thing garmin support in the Netherlands can offer is a factory reset (which doesn’t help with softwarebugs) or buy a refurbished watch (which also doesn’t help with software bugs)

Garmin is the only device that gives me so much problems. Even my cheap bluetoothkeyring doesn’t have any problems connecting and reconnecting to my phone.

At the moment I don’t have wifi not found or network error problems, but they will pop up in the near future again.
