So I've had weird issues with my activity profile list ever since I got my 935 at release, but I'm suddenly unable to delete (not remove) custom activities from my 935. e.g. I have a copy of the default Run profile named "Race" but I am unable to delete it (i.e. remove it completely from the watch, not just from the visible list of activities.)
I realize that the procedure to delete custom activities is Settings > Apps and Activities > [Select Activity] > Delete but I no longer get the Delete option for anything but CIQ apps.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I've also tried:
- Using Garmin Connect Mobile (iOS)
- Using Garmin Express (it claims that my custom activities are built-in activities)
- Deleting the profile manually from \Garmin\Sports on the watch
Nothing seems to work.
As a consequence of this, I am also unable to create new custom profiles by copying an existing one, as I have apparently run up against a hardcoded 40-profile limit. (In the past I've run across the same limit, but I was able to delete a custom profile to make space.)
Does anybody know of a workaround for this issue (other than a master/factory reset)?
I really don't want to have to manually back up all my apps, app settings and other data so I can restore them after the reset. I've done it before, but it's a pain (especially as a few things can't be backed up.)
A related issue I had (which has also been around for a while), is that my "Other" activity had a completely blank name (t was a blank space at the end of the list). When I selected it, I would be prompted to enter a name, but after entering the name, a completely different profile would be added (which happened to be a profile that had previously been invisible). Now the Other profile seems to be completely gone. (Maybe because I've reached the profile limit.)
It would be great if there was way to somehow reset Garmin's "activity profile cache" (or whatever) in the part of the watch that can't be accessed via USB. I realize you can copy new/hacked profiles to the \GARMIN\NEWFILES, but that isn't working for me either, now that I've reached the profile limit.
I just wish there was a way to *delete* a custom profile by copying something to the watch's storage.
