Forerunner 935 poor performance

I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the errors this expensive tool has. During road rides I can sometimes be going 80mph. The distance moved and the time transpired is accurate, so how does the speed get so grossly miscalculated? This has happened several times, all on clear days in areas with excellent coverage (Rochester, NY area). I've also had GPS connection drop for no apparent reason during rides and runs, resulting in missed distance tracking and map tracking. I would not expect this from a $100 tool let alone one that cost $450. I don't expect any such device to require periodic power down to "reset" things. That's unacceptable. So how does Garmin rectify such issues?

  • They don’t.

Garmin is to busy implementing useless features. They know people select their next wearable on the size of the featurelist and garmin has the longest list and wants to keep it that way.

Garmin is driven by marketing and not sporr/activity enthusiasts.

It looks like the GPS module in your watch is just broken. I would contact Garmin for replacement.

  • Actually, the FR935 with the latest software is one of the few Garmin devices which really works well without any issues meanwhile and has matured sufficiently to be reliable.

Either your device is defective which could be solved by a replacemend or you are using some 3rd party apps or watch faces, which cause the issues you described.

Running only with Garmin preinstalled software, the FR935 is rock solid and works like a charm.
