Wifi sync doesn’t work when not connected via bluetooth to my iPhone

When I disconnect my watch from my iPhone wifi sync cannot find my wifi network.

In the settings in garmin connect app everything is ok and even when I test the connection the app and my watch tell me it works perfectly.

Without a bluetooth connection however, it doesn’t work. This is really silly because the only reason to sync over wifi is that the bluetooth connection is very unstable (it doesn’t always automatically reconnect after a workout and never reconnect after a “do not disturb “ period.) Garmin kis aware of the bluetooth problems for quite some time but cannot or will not fix it.

well, they have and other bug to fix.
I do which they would improve their software quality, but it is a lousy as ever.

  • Hello, You are right wifi works well when BT is connected. No sense...

  • That probably explains why my 935 never syncs to my wifi at home. I am always losing BT connection. I can pull up the app and have a good BT connection and an hour later it's gone. Pretty much every time I open the app I don't have a BT connection and have to go into the iPhone settings to force it to connect. This is getting really old, and making me thing about getting something else.

  • Yes, bluetooth is an other of the many, many things Garmins knows it doesn’t work but is not willing or not capable of doing something about.
