garmin 935 and kinetic trainer

Hi

I just bought a kinetic trainer (Kinetic Rock and Roll Control T-6500 home-trainer)

I can associate it with my garmin 820, but  can't with my forerunner 935 or the with my daughter's 935 too.

is it not possible at all, or did i miss someting ?

    It looks like the Kinetic Rock and Roll Control trainer supports ANT+ FE/C, ANT+ Power, and ANT+ Speed profiles.  When you pair the Edge 820 to the indoor trainer, it is using the ANT+ FE/C to be able to control the trainer, ie, you an ride a previous route or course or use the Edge to run a structured workout to control the trainer.

    Unfortunately trainer control is a feature that appears to be limited to the edge line and is not available in any of the watches, not the FR935, F5, F5plus, nor the F6 series.

    While you can not us the FR935 to control the trainer, you can search and add the trainer as a speed sensor and a power sensor.  That way you can record the work out on the FR935, getting speed and power from the trainer, then save the activity into Garmin Connect from your watch.

    So to control the trainer you need to use an Edge device, phone, or computer.

    thank you for your answer and explanations, but unfortunately, it cannot detect the kinetik as speed, cadence, or power sensor.

    Every time i try, it asks me to turn the pedals .... think i do ... with no success

    but thank you anyway

    You may want to double-check that you have the latest FW on the trainer.  When dcrainmaker did his review of the Kinetic Rock and Roll Control trainer, he noted that they were not using standard ANT+ or BLE.  That could have something to do with it.  You may have to contact Kinetic support to get to the bottom of this.

    kinetic firmware is ok, idem for both the watches ..

    i'm already in touch with the support for a "brake trouble" (I guess) on the device.

    I will try to ask them for the ANT+ thing

    Hi, I have the Neo 2T Smart, working fine with cad/spd/pwr with my 935... I also paired a textil HRM to the watch at the same time. Perfectly working with Zwift.

    yours is TAcx ... mine is kninetic ...they probably not use sames protocols .... But thank you

    KK T-6400 here and cannot pair F5 to it either.

    You will need to reach out to Kinetic for the problem.  It appears that they have not followed the ANT+ standard properly in their device.  The F5 and FR935 have not issues with other standard ANT+ trainers.  Kinetic is known to have not followed the standard when they first released the trainers.
