How common is broken ohr

Hi community!

I am hiking and trail running. As I can understand from searching here and there, 935 is atm the top watch with gps, ABC, OHR, light, very good software etc. I am ready to buy it, the only think stopping me is worrying about that broken OHR problem. It seems too common to ignore. I will wear the watch only during training, not 24/7, so I may decrease the chances of the "glass" shattering. Can you help me understand really how common this issue is? I spoke with the garmin service of my country, they told me that of course it is something never happened to them.

Here is mine which is nearly 2.5 years old and totally fine... it's weird how some are affected but not others.

I wear it all day, but not while sleeping. And run with it about 5 hours per week.

I noticed the same cracks on my FR935. I can't remember if I ever dropped it, I'm wearing it 24x7. It seems to work fine though. Since I'm out of warranty I'm going to use until it completely falls apart.

The issue is that it is delaminating, nothing to do with impact. It appears that Garmin knows there is an issue with a batch of Forerunners.

I agree. I'm on my 3rd 935 due to this issue, both times replaced without hassle. I don't baby my watch, but I also don't beat the crap out of the back face either. Garmin support acknowledged it was a known issue, and even indicated that they may have changed manufacturing locations or processes as a result. Some got lucky and some didn't. Either way, Garmin has been good to me through it.
