Is it possible to set the target pace in the Virtual Partner in 1s increments?

I use the Virtual Partner routinely for pacing myself for my longer runs.  My training program calls for me to do runs like 32km at 5:27/km.

As I see it, there is no way to get the Virtual Partner set to 5:27 - I have to choose 5:25 of 5:30.

Not a big deal but it does bug me.  Anyone aware of a solution?

  • To be honest I think you're better off with a range anyway. It's impossible to pace to the second. I would see the pace for the 32km as meaning an average of 5:27/km over the whole distance. Unless it's dead flat and smooth would you expect to hold 5:27/km all the way through?

  • I do these steady runs with a structured workout and pace alarms.

Eg: warmup until lap key pressed, repeat 32x1km @ 5:27.

  • I have the same problem. The further you run, the more off you go with that 5s accuracy. Only compensation is to follow average pace, and keep that in the target. Then to the second field I use IQ app that tells me how many meters or seconds I'm off the target.
