Does Run/Walk alert work during coaching/training session?

In general, alerts don't work during stepped workouts (which coached workouts are as well), because they'd collide with target ranges.

I had the same experience, which is really frustrating when you are using Galloway as a coach and he wants you to use run/walk during his training sessions for long runs and when doing race pace training sessions. 

I wound up putting timer in one of my data fields so that I could open that screen during the workout and watch the time to do the intervals.  Since I am doing 1min/30second intervals, this was extremely cumbersome to do without the alerts.  Garmin may want to figure out how to adjust the coaching sessions to include the run/walk alerts. 

You are spot-on Yards!. This is very disappointing. You can set up run/walk alerts but, you cannot use them with the run/walk coaching. Looking at my timer ever :15 seconds makes an hour run/walk frustrating!

You think Garmin would have considered the alert issue when following the Galloway plan  Agree it is very frustrating.

Hi, i have the same issue...im really thinking about bringing my phone with an interval app or something, but i honestly shouldn't be nessesary. 

Crazy annoying and disappointing that this wasnt taking into account when creating the run program.

And 2 years on, the same problem exists

I use new layout ( only 1 field). When going to Ling Easy Run from warm up, it only show “Waiting for Run Walk Run” with time counted . What wrong I made?
