The email came this morning, posting since there isn't a link up on the forums yet.

  • Any one that have tested this?
The latest Fenix beta contains GPS 2.50, does this as well?

Doesn't look like there is any GPS update in the zip file. Have not installed it yet since the changes don't seem very interesting to me.
  • No GPS update but whatever they changed in the sensor error checking has made battery consumption better by a mile on my watch.

whatever they changed in the sensor error checking has made battery consumption better by a mile on my watch.

How are you able to come to that conclusion in less than 48 hours? I don't have any problems with the battery consumption, but I would think it would take a few activities, along with Bluetooth and GPS usage before a determination can be made. What problems did you have prior to the beta?
  • Have tried the GPS 2.50 just to have a quick peek if Galileo performance would improve. Well, it's more the opposite, even with up to date EPO file the GPS fix took half a minute or longer, reproducibly. I changed back to 2.30 and the fix again is established within seconds. Seems to require some further finetuning though.

    I have the sensor problem.

I have tested this beta version, but it doesn't fix the problem...

The sensor always stops, but I no longer get the message"'sensor error".

In version 12.40 (with error message) :

In beta version 12.41 (without error message) :

Have you already tried the master reset on your watch (the two beep method)? Maybe there is a corrupted file or data somewhere on your watch which would benefit from this specific reset method.,

What is the two beep method please? :)
  • Kzou7 "two beep method" refers to a special key sequence that you would use if the watch is totally unresponsive (e.g. can't turn on fully), and you want to perform a "master reset" or "reset to factory defaults".

However if the watch otherwise works properly (i.e. turns on and responds to key presses normally), there is a much easier way to do this from the menu:
    https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webh...6AD7747EE.html
    Restoring All Default Settings
NOTE: This deletes all user-entered information and activity history.
You can restore all of the device settings to the factory default values.

    Hold UP.
Select Settings > System > Restore Defaults > Yes.

Note that you will lose all data on your watch. Before you do this, if you want backup and restore certain things like Connect IQ app settings and activity (e.g. run) profiles, refer to this post:

    https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into...00#post1282900
  • Please note that the "MASTER RESET" is more advanced than just the restore to factory from the menu.

    Refer to this link

    https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=wxPmdnWsev1xGRUf58oDC8

And follow the instructions for "Secondary Master Reset" which describes the correct procedure
