Beta Software Version 9.72 is now available. Full change log and installation instructions can be found here.

[h=4]Changes made from version 9.70 to 9.72:[/h]
• Added support for Connect IQ SDK v3.0.
• Improvements to pool swim distance accuracy.
• Fixed a rare issue which could cause the watch to restart at the end of certain workouts.
• Fixed an issue where the abnormal heart rate alert would auto-dismiss after 30 seconds.
• Improved GPS track accuracy for Open Water swimming activities.
[h=2]Installation Instructions[/h]
• Connect your Forerunner 935 to your computer using the USB cable.
• Download and unzip Forerunner935_972Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
• Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
• If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE-970.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder.. Rename GUPDATE-970.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
Please feel free to discuss the beta in this thread, but be sure to send all feedback to [email protected].
• My experience with 9.72;
- Pool swim with Swim HR worked fine. Correct distance and HR. (same as prior)
- Cycle with HRM-Tri and ANT+ Cadence. Worked Fine besides Elevation. (same as prior)
- Altitude - Still not acceptable
- Havent been for an open water swim yet, so no comment there.
• I sent an email to the forerunner beta email address, but wanted to drop a note here also to see if anyone else is seeing frequent BT disconnects and reconnects. I have mostly noticed it running CIQ apps which rely on a connection to the phone. The app will suddenly say a phone connection is required. I have also seen it while viewing the weather forecast in the weather widget. Generally it will drop and reconnect forcing a sync, but anything that requires a download of more that a couple seconds will fail. My sure way to see it is when I try to use my weather radar app since the image will take about 10-15 seconds to download. I see success about 1 out of 10 tries. On 9.60 or 9.70, I would see a few errors but usually it would work 9 out of 10 tries.
• Still the same frustrating GPS faults within open water swim. It takes the wach 2-3 seconds until gps signal is recognized. I verify this via the GPS data field.

It‘s a shame garmin. This feature was working very well before the Galileo update.
• Yeah OWS was pretty bad. I did a swim I've done many times with my old 920 and Fenix 5s and the plot was way off. In my case it recorded at around 20% longer which was probably due to the track being so zig zag adding to the distance. Looks like I'll go back to my F5 for a Half Ironman next week. Oh yeah...my run had something corrupted so GC doesn't show the plots even though the GPS looks good. Fortunately, Strava seems to have corrected everthing.

9.72 did not resolve my open water swim, still broken.

Does anybody know if they fixed the "current pace" not being indicated on the red-green-red bar during a targeted pace workout? They broke it at 9.60, shows lap average pace now instead, the same as the numerical display below it. Still broken in 9.70. By the way Garmin, if you want to change that bar to an orange-green-blue bar at the sane time so it clearly indicates the fast and slow ends of it, and is consistent with the colours that show on the pop-up notification screen when you go outside the target range, that'd be great too.
