Newbie - Swimming with HRM Swim - little or no effect on training load/status

Hi,

I wonder if someone could help me to understand why I seem to get very little effect on my training status when I swim. I really like the idea that the Forerunner is monitoring my level of activity. I run and ride which is fine, but I understand that without any HRM data, then my swims would not count towards my training status. So I went out and bought the HRM Swim to ensure that my swims were taken into account.

My problem is that either my swims are not contributing to my training load/status at all, or for some reason that I don't understand, they are contributing very little.

I have attached a capture of my training status graph.

I did a 10k run on July 5th of 4.9 Aerobic TE and 3.2 Anaerobic TE (71% Z4, 19% Z5).

After that I went on holiday for 4 days so did no exercise on 6/7/8/9/10 July. During that time, understandably my training load flat-lines then drops.

On July 11th I did another 10k run of 4.1 Aerobic TE and 0.6 Anaerobic TE (83% in Z4) which understandably slowed the decline of the training load line - all good so far.

Then today (July 12th) I did a 2.5k non-stop swim of 3.9 Aerobic TE and 0 Anaerobic TE (72% in Z4). This is a pretty big effort for me and I don't understand why my training load shows no positive effect and actually starts to fall again?

I'd love to have a better understanding of why my training load is doing what it is doing!

I'm using a Forerunner 935 with firmware version 8.0
