Physio TrueUp not syncing activities from Garmin Connect (FR935/Edge 520)

My 935 (firmware 9.1) isn't picking up activities from Garmin Connect.

My Edge 520 syncs rides with Garmin Connect, however no rides appear on the 935 history. I thought 30 days worth of activities and any new rides would sync and be visible in the history page on the 935.

Am I understanding the functionality of the Physio TrueUp feature incorrectly?

I have tried the following multiple times:
* Turning Physio TrueUp on and off on both the watch & Garmin Connect Mobile
* Removing and re-adding the device with Garmin Connect Mobile
* Hard reset the 935 to factory defaults.

When I re-sync the 935 with the Garmin Connect Mobile TrueUp mentions it will sync 30 days of activities from Garmin Connect, however nothing is synced from Garmin Connect > 935.

After the hard reset I would have thought ALL activities I've done in the last 30 days would be brought back to the watch, however now my History is completely empty.

Anyone else having the issue or have any suggestions?
  • Maybe I'm interpreting the feature incorrectly?

I thought even though the Edge 520 isn't on the list; activities (ie, rides) will still sync. Physiological data wont sync because the Edge 520 doesn't have the advanced FirstBeat Metrics.

When pairing the device to Garmin Mobile Connect the suggestion is that it pulls 30 days of activity data from Garmin Connect.
Based on this it shouldn't it sync back the activities I've recorded with the FR935 over the last 30 days from Garmin Connect?
I would expect that after I perform a factory reset, enable Physio TrueUp and then sync I should have activities in my activity history (at the very least, activities I recorded on the FR935).

  • In my limited experience it only seemed to initially add new rides into my history. Can you do a short test ride, then sync both devices with Garmin Connect and see if the test ride appears in the 935 history?

    Thanks kitenski!
Can confirm this worked. Did two 0km 'test rides' on the 520 and both have appeared in the 935 history showing the source as the Edge 520.
Rides show the following data fields: Distance, Time, Ave Speed, Max Speed, Calories, Ascent, Descent, Source. Lap data is also present.

As a further test I deleted all activities and reset totals on the 935 and then manually synced again to see if it would pull the two new test rides. Nothing came across.

Has anyone managed to get the "This sends your last 30 days of activity from Garmin Connect to your device" to work as advertised?

Also I guess, word of warning to any impatient people like me not to reset your device multiple times, at least until you test to see if a new ride syncs across.

Now to change every setting back to what I had before...
  • Try this. Record ride on 520. Save. A stub record should get synced to 935. Check delivery queue in GC web.
  • One extra bit of info for anyone else having the same issue.
I updated to 9.10 last week and have done 4 rides since then which did not sync so i think either removing the 935 from GCM or resetting has enabled new rides to be pushed to the 935.

I did the same and todays new ride is pushed to the 935. Unfortunately not all activities of the past 30 days and also not the recovery time. Can someone give an advise for those issues?
  • Don't mean to highjack thread but have a related question...

I also have a 520, which I know does not currently support the advanced recovery/training metrics, but if I record a ride on the 520 will it update these metrics on the 935?

Same issue here. No history is synced to 935 after a factory reset.

  • Garmin Connect new version can support that. Do you have the latest version?
