When it gets colder I find myself running at a local domed facility where the track has much better climate control than outdoors :)
In the past I thought I used a Garmin Footpod with Distance and Pace set to "Always" to allow accurate distance and pace while my GPS track was really rough -- the GPS signal is marginal and the 90 degree corners cause some issues with GPS alone.
The latest use with my Milestone Pod seems to look like "Always" for distance and pace doesn't work... At least the pace and distance while running did not line up at all.
My activity is here: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2489506314
I ran approximately 10.7-10.8 miles, the data shows 8.98. My estimated distance is based on counting laps, the facility's stated laps/mile and roughly my normal run pace.
My pod calibration was set to 1000 (it has been calibrated via the milestone app separately). If I plug this activity into fellrnr's footpod calibration tool it tells me I should use 779, yet if I tell the tool that I actually ran 10.75 miles my cal is 929 (still not great, but much closer).
I know I could merely use indoor mode, but the plot of laps around and around is kind of fun. Should distance/pace "always" work for me in this scenario? Could it be something weird about the settings working with ANT+ pods but not BLE?
Thanks for any review and comments!
