Longer term use - watch body/bezel scratch resistance

New owner here. Despite extensive search on internet I cannot find any uniform information on the body/bezel scratch resistance of 935. I have glass protector for screen - but would heavily appreciate some personal experience, presuming 24/7 use of watch.

Number of months in use:
Scratches on body/bezel: yes/no
Other signs of wear? (not counting the wear of strap itself)

P.S. Appreciate forum moderators - but great to hear from regular Joe/Jane

Thank you!

I purchased my 935 in April 2017. I wear it every day and also run every single day with it. I have also installed the glass screen protector, and it has saved my screen from some heavy scratches. As far as the bezel goes, mine is still perfect! I couldn't find a single scratch on it. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1308181.jpg
  • I've had my 935 (Tri bundle version) for 5 months. I wear it all day and use it for swimming, running, cycling and hiking. Not a single mark on it (I've cursed it now!)
  • I got mine on 4 Sep 17, five months ago. I wear it 24x7 and use it for rowing (indoor) daily, plus bike and cardio. As far as I can see, there are no marks on it.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1308210.jpg

I hit my wrist on the corner of a workbench in my garage last weekend. The screen protector cracked, but the watch screen was fine. I don't know if my watch would have sustained any damage without the screen protector, but I have piece of mind that the protector did it's job.
  • 935 user since july 2017 here ;-) 24h on my wrist, several triathlons, daily training (running, cycling, pool swimming)...looks like new. i have the glass protector on, just in case. my only gripe is that the buttons lost their clicky feeling but they still work fine (same happened to the buttons of the 920, and 3 years to date they still work ok)

Interesting, my buttons still have a nice tactile feedback when I press them.
  • Mine still looks like new as well, I do have a Brotect AirGlass on it.

Unfortunately the buttons have become TOO clicky and the "action" doesn't feel "smooth", especially on the "way back", but that's the subject of another topic !
  • I've had mine since last May. I cracked my glass screen protector a few months ago, but otherwise the watch looks fine. Buttons are like new. Need to replace the screen protector when I have a chance.
  • 935 over since April 2017, I have glass face protector so good you couldn't see it even it you tried. I'd argue that it made the screen look even cleaner. as for the bezel, not a mark as I suspected. When your dealing with metal you're dealing with eventual nicks/offset chips in paint. Plastic doesn't have this problem. The band though, no rips or tears, but the wear on it is more noticeable. That's really no issue since you can just buy a new one. Compared to the 2nd longest watch i've owned from Garmin (Fenix 3HR) the 935 has held up remarkably well. The argument for the beefier Fenix line doesn't hold up in my opinion--the 935 is just durable as it's heavier older brother.
  • Had mine since May 2017. I use a glass screen protector and would anyone advise to do so.
I climb, run, hike, ski (tour) with the watch and have hit it several times against rocks and other obstacles. There are some small scratches on the bezel but you hardly notice them. I don't know how this watch would look like with a metal bezel, especially if it was coated - I would say a lot worse. Then again, it's a sports watch so I'd expect it to get some scratches over time.
I wear it on a daily basis, not during the night. The buttons lost the clickiness, which is kind of annyoing, but they work fine. Overall, I am happy with it.

I had a Fenix 3 (grey bezel) for a while, and that one showed scratches faster and more.
