Garmin need to improve their search
So far the elevation my unit measured during runs seemed realistic. Though I noticed my 935's calibration goes haywire every few days and I have to recalibrate it about three time a week.
Also I asked for a replacement and they didn’t argue with that at all. So I’m assuming that means they consider it a hardware issue.
This is probably a result of changed barometric pressure at the location where you live. The natural variations in ambient pressure over a few days can be equal to altitude variations of several hundred meter. So a barometric altimeter needs very frequent calibration.
Hi guys - my forerunner 935 altimeter has also gone bad - ie. showing 0 elevation for a cycle of >1500m worth of climbing ..... have tried re calibrating by GPS and also manually entering in start value but still not fixed
Any further suggestions ?
What happens to the Ambient Pressure reading? Does it also stay fixed when you go to another altitude?
(It has to be Ambient Pressure. Barometric Pressure is not of much use for troubleshooting. Ambient Pressure is unfortunately not visible in the default widgets. But it is a built-in data field which you can use in a custom data screen in an activity.)
You did not by any chance set your watch to Barometer Mode?
