How long does it take to charge your 935 back to full?

I remember my 235 took ~2hrs to go from ~10% back up to 100%, while my 735XT took half that (which was great to discover!).

I understand the 935 has a much larger battery, but is also newer tech. How long do you find it takes to charge back to full when plugged into a standard laptop USB (for example)?
  • On the F5 with a similar size battery, I get about 12% every 15 minutes. As with pretty much all rechargeable batteries, the last 20% becomes progressively slower to charge.
  • Never really counted but my impression is a few hours. I often charge at work when sat still for a while and have no real need for it. I also rarely let my battery get much below 50% in case I run out when don't want too.
  • in my impression less than an hour. Just loaded mine yesterday from 13% to 100% and in my impression it is super fast.
  • I was just at 35% I think and charged to 100% in 1.5h. The last 2% took about 20 or 30m, so if you just need to get it charged up quick before an activity, it's super fast.
  • One tool that's very very helpful is a USB power meter. Broken cords used to drive me crazy. With this I can quickly determine it is the power source or the cable or by deduction whats being charged. This way you can verify it is consistently getting power.

My version is no longer available but there are other makes

Note Tried to upload photo but could not figure it out.Tried JPG, GIF and BMP and also resampled to below 1mb. Anyone know how to do this?

  • Chuck,

I think the 935 battery is 300 mAh, with a 2 hour charge time, this means that even when the charging current is at its highest, it is well below the 500mA of even the original USB 1.0 spec. So I'm not sure that the cable or port condition is really going to slow things down.

But you are right that a faulty cable can make charging something with a large battery (eg. a tablet) painfully slow.
