Zooming the track on map screen during activity

I know after a hike, I can go to map screen and zoom and pan the track recorded.
But during the hike, I would like to be able to zoom out the track on the map data screen so I can see the entire track so far. I am not seeing any option to do that.
Is there a way to do it?

    On the map page:

    menu / pan & zoom.

    Start / Stop button then toggles between zoom / move left/right / move up/down
    up & down buttons do the zooming and moving

    On the Fenix 3 I hold the Up button for some seconds while looking at the map. Normally, this would bring me to a menu with Settings at top, but if I do it while looking at the map, there will be another menu item at top. Here I can zoom and pan. Perhaps it is the same for the 935.

    ...and that is not really intuitive, but I live with it...
