Can u wear OHR watches on underside of wrist?

For the last 10 yrs I've been wearing my garmin on the underside of my arm, mobility issues make it hard to flip my arm over while running and look at the top side of my wrist. I got the new 935 and was curious if the OHR works on the bottom of my wrist as well as the recommended top?

thanks in advance
  • Works fine on my 735xt but I have not tried during running. My only concern might be the watch compression on the arteries since it is supposed to be snug, so try it at rest first.
  • Seconding the direct above post. I don't see why not. Perhaps if you do it, wear it well above the wrist bone and arteries (like a smidgen shy of mid forearm?) I know people that use the Scosche Rhythm plus on the underside of their forearm around the same place. I personally didn't like it there, it would constantly lose signal, and that happened everywhere arm(s), but that could just be the unit I own or maybe my arms aren't conducive to a OHRM? No tattoos (when I used it) very light arm hair.

Try it though, it's just one workout.
  • Thanks. It's working for around the house and sleep... Will try for some work outs.
  • Wearing it on the underside is one of the suggested solutions for those having difficulty getting consistent OHR readings.

But you may have to have the wrist settings opposite to actual for the purposes of the gesture backlight, so that the wrist rotation direction is the same.
