The Running Power Connect IQ Apps are now available!

Current Compatible Devices:
  • Forerunner 935
  • fenix 5 series
  • fenix Chronos
Connect IQ data fields:
  • Current Running Power
  • Current Lap Running Power
  • Last Lap Running Power
  • Average Running Power
  • Combo Running Power
We have also published a series of FAQ. They can be found here.
  • First run with Combo Running Power 1.40. Wind is still disabled. No idea what to do.
  • Second run, wind feature is enabled.
  • Did you find how to fix it, did you change anything? I still have wind disabled.
  • No idea. Installed 1.40 and checked the setting. Next run was (as stated above) still with wind feature disabled. Then checked setting again and flipped it to off and on and the next subsequent runs, wind was enabled. Do not know if unchecking and checking did the fix or if something else.
  • Hi all, I don't know if this is the right section for my issue...
I bought last xmas Running dynamic pod and it works ok, but in Connect Mobile, under FTP voice I have a strange value:
    - it display avg power 185watt but each my run saved 260w avg
    - it display "there is no data available" in previous 4 weeks
    - if I search data in last 6 or 12 months it display 185watt but until 4 weeks ago I don't have any device to measure the power
do you have an idea how to fix it?ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1448518.png
  • So just tried the Garmin Running Power IQ apps with my 935+hr-run belt. First impressions, 'rubbish'! Done a few runs now and power varies wildly by up to 100w typically! And when I start up a hill my HR reacts quicker than the power, in fact the power goes down to start with before reaching an expected figure after about 20secs typically.. I might as well train by HR!

I think this is not goint to change as long as we need barometric altimeters to aid power calculation (hill grade calculation). The Garmin altimeter has a 10s averaging to boot with and even then it's still less stable than Stryd built in altimeter.

Ah that would explain it, didn't realize altimeter had a 10s average, so multiply that with GPS pace that is very variable, you end with a very unsteady/noisy power value!!

The FTP is for cycling power which is a native feature for the watch while Running Power is a CIQ app.

Even if you're not cycling with a power meter you can still get an FTP value added to your account. When my primary watch was a 735 I used to get an FTP even though I wasn't using a power meter or smart trainer at the time. It's an oddity that can seem to happen but nobody could give me an explanation of how.
  • R_Tellis thanks a lot for your explain.
I have another question, since two days ago I don't see power data graph in my activities (not in GC and not in GCM), it's not the first time that happens, usually they return after lot hours but not this time.

Do you have an idea about it? How can fix it?

Update: find a solution on this forum: it's a Garmin Connect issue
