Garmin connect indicates my lactate threshold at 46 BPM. Isn't that far too low? I typical run 3 time a week between 4-12 km each. Problem with the watch or with the physiology? What are typical ranges for that metric?
Normally LT corresponds to 90% of your HRMax. So maybe something is wrong on your HR settings (either in the 935 or in GCM). Check also the pace at LT : it should not be too far from 90% of your Maximum Aerobic Speed (MAS = VO2max /3,5 without unit)
46BPM? not 146BPM? Typically it will be in the range of 90% of Maximum Heart Rate. My maximum HR is 174 and my LT calculated at Track last night was 159BPM ie 91.3% MHR
Exactly the same problem. LT value reported in GC is 46 bpm. Not the same value that the one reported in the watch. In addtition my first auto measurement done by the watch was LT at 163bpm which is consistent with my max HR and fitness level. Now last estimation is 119 bpm with a pace over 7:30/km... I've issue with this LT since few weeks. At the very begining it worked fine but now it is not the case anymore. I wonder if the watch use this LT value to determine fitness level, training effect training load etc... if this is the case this is not acurate of course
I always use the HRM strap. I think that mabe the only reason it changed to 169 is that I changed the setting in garmin express to have my lactate threshold determined by being 90% of my max heartbeat which happens then to be 169 bpm. Can also be a coincidence of course but I doubt it .. Previously I had 46 bpm and then 86 bpm.
Can confirm this is also an issue with the F5 as well. I recently got notified that my LTHR was 165. After the run, I chose to calculate my zones using max HR, not LTHR. Soon as I saved that, it changed my LTHR to 74 and resting HR 30.
I've since had to set manually on the watch, but every time I make any changes to User settings on GC, the LTHR or resting rate reverts to a low number.
Emailing Garmin about it now - although they are probably aware.
I have exactly the same problem with the 645... and the lactate threshold reported by the watch is also 46 bpm (obviously wrong). Is there a way to reset it?
Yes, you can reset it through the heart rate zones on GC - select % of LT method, then you can specify your LTHR.
I'm pretty sure the problem is within GC, not the watch. I got a LTHR of 169 bpm in February (which was reported correctly), but since March, it shows an LTHR of 41 bpm (curiously, this is just 1 bpm faster than my RHR of 40). I have not run with the chest strap since February, so no possibility of the watch generating a new LTHR. The problem of incorrect HR data points being imported from GC has been an ongoing issue since the 7.6 firmware update.
