Resting Heart Rate - was there a change to the calculation recently?

Since the latest update my RHR numbers are all over.

Anyone else having this issue?
  • Yes, I noticed a change in the last week or so usually I'm around 48 to 51 and lately seems much higher, now in the upper 50s. Seems wrong because I'm sitting on the couch and looking at it, hasn't gone higher than 50 for a while.
  • I can also confirm this to be a problem. In my HR history graph I frequently see mid-fifty values, yet my 7 day history only shows over 60. First I thought I am more stressed or getting sick as resting HR went up, but luckily it is just a bug. (pun intended)
  • Are you wearing your 935 overnight or not? And, if you do, you do all the time or just some of the time? That alone is a reason for differing numbers as RHR is computed "in the day" if you don't wear overnight and overnight if you do.
  • no issues for me. Wearing it 24/7 since April.
  • The last 7 day graph never makes sense to me so I just ignore it. I know my RHR can go as low as 43, but the 7 day graph shows that for two days last week my "average RHR" was around 35, which makes no sense as I have never seen my HR drop below 43 before, so it seems very unlikely to be a true average. I only wear my watch during the day and check my HR fairly often.

Yes I'm seeing the avg increase slowly overtime...also I did a quick test for my RHR. All of a sudden it was around 75-78 so I decided to manually take my pulse, it was actually 53.
Something is wacky lately or I have a heart issue but I wear the strap HRM when I train and that looks good?

That is catagoricaly untrue Tim. I always wear mine. Bed, awake always unless I have to charge. Even then, I swap to my vivoactive hr. My RHR has jumped 20 bpm since beta 6.75. Yesterday my RHR was 60 bpm my actual RHR... 40

It's broken right now. What ever they did to factor in sleep is all wrong with the Forerunner 935.
  • I also feel like something has changed. I have been wearing my 935 since March 30 when I first got it and I have worn it 24/7, I never take it off unless it is charging. My RHR used to average around 50 for months and has been gradually going up for awhile now. It is closer to 60 now.
