Jump in training load

Just curious: Does anyone notice a jump in training load after installing the beta?

My trainingload nearly doubled after instatlling the 6.75 beta and now I'm at 650 and "unproductive", of course. No big thing, because I think I only have to do is wait for several days for my training load to become reasonable again.
  • I've used the 935 since mid May and have worn it througout my peak mileage times. I've attached a couple of training load plots. The first one shows training load in August/September when I had two half marathons (you can see the 7-day load elevations stemming from the race). The second shows the last four weeks with the jump at the end. Finally, I've attached a 6-month plot that also clearly shows the jump.

For heart rate measurements I use a HRM-Tri, maximum HR is taken from a 4-month-old treadmill test.

Concerning hikes and trail runs: While the watch did show a TE for these activities, they did not contribute to the 7-.day-averaged training load. So essentially, I had no training status for around two weeks during my 3-week vacation and slowly started building it back up.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1269400.png
  • Just happened again...4.7 aerobic TE on a 6.5k run at a 5:05 min/km pace (my HM pace is 4:43). Average HR was 153 bpm (my max is 187). That effort wasn't even close to what 4.7 would suggest. Guess I'll drop the beta support a line.
  • Same thing after new beta!

A change from productive to unproductive made me wonder how my MaxHF is stored in my 935 after updating to the latest beta. Again the HF is set to 171 instead of 191.
Just as an advise: keep an eye on your user settings after updating to avoid messing up the training load...

  • Am I the only one whose MaxHF keeps resetting to 171??

I entered the real maxhf of 191 again and my next run (today) was also messed up. It was a recom run and come out totally unproductive with rest of 32hr from now on. Ridiculous. I found the 171 again in my profile. Now I am starting to get annoyed....
  • Check the setting on Garmin Connect on the interweb.
  • Philip,

    thanky you for the hint.
I don't find any setting for HFmax on the garmin-connect-website (not mobile). I can enter VO2max, weight, heigth, e.g. but no HF data. Am I missing something?
  • Look at the zones you can set under User Settings. There you'll see a place to enter a max HRmax
  • link not working but: I finally found it. I searched under Profile-User-settings and not under Device-User-Settings....

    thx a lot! :)
