HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim not pairing with watch

Today I took delivery of the 935 Tri bundle. It has updated to firmware 6.00.

I cannot get the watch to pair with either of the included HRM straps. To check the straps were okay, I tried pairing them with my Edge 520 - this worked fine. Wondering if it was something to do with the watch's ANT+, I tried pairing my old Wahoo TICKR to the 935 - this also worked fine.

Any ideas?

  • If the strap was already paired to the watch; unpair it and re-pair it. If the strap was never paired to the watch; the battery on the strap might be dead. Replace the coin battery and try pairing the strap again. if that doesn't work....call Garmin for a replacement or return it to where you bought it and exchange it for a new one.
  • Ah, they were already paired but they had no IDs associated with them. Both called HR - 0.
    Anyway, I've unpaired and re-paired them so I can see their IDs and all is well with the world.
