Splits in Summary and Split Export vs TCX File

First time, long time :)

Just recently purchased my 935 and was messing around with the different export features when I noticed that the split times in the TCX export file are not the same as the split times listed in the Split CSV export or the listed splits on my workout that matter. The TCX file is reporting a total workout time about 2 minutes slower than what I ran according to my workout summary.

I would think that all of these times should line up, or am I missing something here?

Running GPS only, 1sec recording if that makes a difference.
  • That's odd. Was this just a regular steady run and are you talking about the auto lap splits perhaps of a mile (or km)?

Did you stop at all in the run?
  • I just exported a TCX of my latest interval run. Seems that Garmine exports this useless "time in movement" as lap time in <TotalTimeSeconds>.

Yeah, pretty standard 4 mile loop. Have auto lap enabled for every mile and auto pause off. I did pause the workout for 2-3 longer waits at intersections.
  • So as fischest seems to imply, are you only seeing moving time in the TCX file?
  • Seems to be something to that hypothesis...

TCX is listing "Total time", splits are aligned with my "Moving time". Think Garmin should be consistent between the fields since if you import your TCX file it then throws off your total time and therefore pace calculations.

Only really an issue if you are modifying/reloading your TCX file back into Garmin Connect and the only reason I found it is because I was deleting a cool down lap I didn't intend to have. Lesson learned for next time I suppose.
