Can't keep notifications during activity turned off

I have Settings>Phone>Smart Notifications>During Activity set to "Show Calls Only". After a day or two, I find I am getting notifications during activities. I check the setting and it has been reset to "Show All" somehow even though I didn't change it.

It seems there is a bug that keeps resetting the During Activity to "Show All". I am using 5.30, but this bug has been around in previous versions also.

Has anyone else seen this and any idea when we will get a fix?
  • From what i have read here it sounds like GC may be over writing settings
You should set this in GC and sync/send to device and see how it goes
Alternatively set it on phone and sync with GE and see if it gets over ridden then you will know if it is this behaviour

Lots of discussions about GC overwriting settings on the device. Generally, set what you can on Garmin Connect on the interweb. Garmin has a hierarchy of settings (Garmin Connect, Garmin Connect Mobile, device), which is essentially secret. However, if there are settings on GC that are also on GCM and the device, set them on GC. If on GCM and the device (but not GC) set them on GCM. Once you get used to that idea, things work.

If you want any hope of any action from Garmin, contact Garmin support directly.
  • Thanks. It is true that syncing with GCM causes the setting to be overridden. However I see no place in either GC nor GCM to set this (smart notifications during activity).
  • In Garmin Connect go to device settings and scroll down to alerts.
