"GPS ready" on lap swim and treadmill

i am on 4.10. Have been for awhile. All of a sudden, my watch displays "GPS Ready" during either of these activities. Why does it do this? Is it killing the battery searching for a GPS signal. It used to not be displayed....and it doesn't make sense to be displayed, since I am swimming in a pool or on a treadmill. Any experts know whats going on?

Check those apps/activities have GPS turned off.

Strange. Is there any "map" in GC for these activities?

But yeah, as Philip says, also double check you haven't enabled GPS for these activity profiles as well.

The Standard Pool Swim App of the Forerunner 935 has no setting for GPS. The GPS is inactive and that cannot be changed unless you have created your own swim app based on another activity app. My Pool swim app does cross out the GPS Logo on top of the screen five seconds after start.

It is a bug on the watch (talked to Garmin). Requires soft reset.
