Road ID for F935

This is still being worked out with RoadID. So, more details to come. Just a heads-up...

If you are considering purchasing a custom RoadID for your F935 (https://www.roadid.com/c/FitnessTrackerIDs), it appears that you want to order the Fenix 5 style for a QuickFit 22 band and then order the F935 if you do NOT use QuickFit. The F935 product they have doesn't fit on the QuickFit 22 correctly.

I'll post again when RoadID figures it out.
  • Brilliant idea! It wear a RoadID on my other wrist. It would be nice to eliminate that band. Unfortunately I have a Fenix3 band on my 935. Do any of the other options work with the F3 sized band?
  • Can you feel the RoadID on your band? I really like the idea but I'm wondering if it will bother me.
  • If a picture is worth a thousand words, here's 3000.

Note that the non-QuickFIt(QF) band isn't attached, but you get the idea.

To answer the questions about noticing on my wrist, I don't think it is fair to comment yet. I haven't worn it on the non-QF. I have worn it on the QF band and not noticed it, other than I'm not getting the band as tight as I'd like.

I've been wearing mine 24/7 for over a month and I don't notice it at all.
  • I finally got the RoadID for the Fenix 5. They've taken down the ability to order (or give a product review) on the F935. You want to order the Fenix 5 one if you use a QuickFit 22 Silicone band. It is tapered on one end to allow it to fit on a band that is fatter as it approaches the watch. You need to order based on the band, not the watch.

Trying to say this as nicely as possible... RoadID's customer service in the past has always been stellar. Not so much on this go around. I think the issue is that they are selling stuff for a product (Garmin wearables) that they don't understand. I think they'll work it out in time. Great product and I think their customer service will catch up to it.

The new Fenix 5 badge on a QF 22 band on my F935 looks good and is very comfortable. I recommend it.

Browner40, are you talking about a RoadID for another Garmin? The one for the F935 was scheduled to be released on Aug 11. I pre-ordered mine and got it early on the 7th. I don't see how you could have gotten yours for the F935 before July 10th. Just looking for clarification.

I pre-ordered the FR935 band back in May. They shipped it to me on 6/14/2017 and I have been wearing it on my 935 ever since. Are you in a different country than the US? I have never seen anything that said they weren't releasing it until August... maybe they sold out of the first production run and had to wait on something?
  • Browner40, I'm in US. Ordered on June 22 and the receipt said "Item on preorder. Will ship around 8/11/2017". Pleasantly surprised when I got it on Aug 7. You definitely ordered yours well ahead of me. Go figure.
  • I've been meaning to get a new Road ID for a while but just switched to the QF22 strap on my 935. In looking thru this thread is the solution to a 935 + QF22 + Road ID still to get a RoadID Side Kick for the Fenix 5X?

Anyone with any recent info or attempts?
  • As a follow-up this is what I received from RoadID support when asking if the QF22 would work with the sidekick or Fenix version...

"Thank you for taking the time to write. We appreciate and understand your desire for an ID that will fit your specific watch/wearable, but we cannot say for certain whether any of our IDs will work. Developing ID plates for specific bands is a pretty tricky process, and we have to be extremely precise in order to ensure a perfect fit. In doing so, we can only guarantee that our IDs will work for the bands they were designed and manufactured for. That said, we are continuously expanding our ID lineup to include more wearables, and our Product Team will certainly be informed of your interest. Thanks again for reaching out. Don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do for you. "
